England assistant coach Paul Collingwood is in awe of Sarfaraz Khan after his blazing half-century on debut. The batter, who has been a star in the domestic circuit, finally made his debut in IND vs ENG 3rd Test at Rajkot. Khan’s much-awaited debut was a treat for the eyes as he went about business without a tinge of nervousness.
IND vs ENG: Sarfaraz Khan’s rapid fire fifty catches Collingwood’s eye
“On debut, it takes a lot of courage to play like Sarfaraz Khan did. Ben Stokes kept attacking fields to create some chances but he wasn’t afraid to go over the top,” Paul Collingwood said at the press conference after Day 1.
Coming at number six, Sarfaraz showed nerves of steel as he hit spinner Joe Root and Tom Hartley with ease. The 22-year-old reached his fifty with a single and joined Hardik Pandya as Indian player to score quickest fifty on Test debut.
