IND vs ENG: Ravindra Jadeja set to be ruled out of remainder of series

Ravindra Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury while attempting a quick run on Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad and was ruled out of the second Test in Vizag.

Team India are likely to play without Ravindra Jadeja for the last three matches, as the all-rounder is likely to be ruled out of remainder of IND vs ENG Test series. Notably, Jadeja sustained a hamstring injury while attempting a quick run on Day 4 of the first Test in Hyderabad and was ruled out of the second Test in Vizag.

According to Times of India (TOI), Ravindra Jadeja is likely to be ruled out for the remaining three Test matches as well due to the hamstring injury.

However, KL Rahul, who was also ruled out of the second Test after complaining of pain in right quadriceps, is likely to return for third Test.

“Rahul seems to have been recovering well. There’s a strong chance that he will be back for the third Test match,” a BCCI source was quoted as saying to TOI.

The selectors have already announced uncapped player Sourabh Kumar and all-rounder Washington Sundar as replacements for Jadeja in the second Test. And with Jadeja likely to be ruled out, the duo is likely to be part of the squad for the remaining three matches.
