India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was back in business, after missing the second match, as he scored a fifty against England in the third Test, in testing times on Thursday. After India were reeling at 33/3 in 8.5 overs, on the opening day of the Rajkot Test, Jadeja combined well with skipper Rohit Sharma, to get to his 21st fifty in the format, also his second in the series.
Jadeja’s innings consisted of five fours, as he put in the hard yards at his home ground. What was noteworthy, was that Jadeja did not look to take too many risks, given the situation Team India was in. Meanwhile, as soon as he brought up his milestone, he brought out the ‘sword’ once again.
Yashasvi, Shubman & Patidar Disappoint
Last match’s double centurion Yashasvi Jaiswal failed to impress in the third match as he fell for 10. His dismissal was closely followed by that of Shubman Gill, another centurion from the previous match, for a duck. Whereas, Rajat Patidar, despite being promoted in the batting order. was dismissed by Tom Hartley for five.
