IND vs ENG Ranchi Test: Denied visa, Shoaib Bashir returns to haunt India with maiden Test fifer

IND vs ENG 4th Test: Shoaib Bashir weaves magic in Ranchi, scalps maiden Test fifer against India

England spinner Shoaib Bashir wove his magic on Day 2 and continued it on Day 3 of the IND vs ENG Ranchi Test. Bashir already scalped a four-fer previously and with the dismissal of Akash Deep, the youngster gets his much deserved fifer. The pitch has been rather mysterious, spin friendly but not a turner. This was the youngster’s maiden Test fifer.

Spinners have got assistance from the pitch time and again. But the uneven bounce has made it tricky for the batters. Previously Ravindra Jadeja too scalped a four-fer in the first innings. Playing his second Test match, Bashir has taken his wicket’s tally to 8 Test wickets vs India.

Shoaib Bashir dispatched every top batter from the Indian batting order. His victims included the likes of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Rajat Patidar and Ravindra Jadeja and finally Akash Deep.

From his visa fiasco in the first game to picking up a fifer in the 4th Test, it has been a wonderful series for the youngster. He was rested for the Rajkot test, but came back in Ranchi to showcase his talent. Huge credits to the bowler to managed to trick his victims especially in a track that is not a turner.
