Ravindra Jadeja has Joe Root out once again! And that’s what we’ve been witnessing for the past few years. Once again, Root fell into the trap of Ravindra Jadeja in the ongoing ODI. The star England batter, who has been in amazing form in whites, didn’t have a good outing in his ODI return. Root’s innings ended when he was batting at 19 runs.
Jadeja, who has a variety of variations and some quick deliveries, bowled the ball at a speed of 100.7 kph. Root went onto the back foot but got trapped right in front of the middle stump. Completely beaten by the delivery, he got plumbed. Although Root used the DRS, it didn’t end up in his favour. Initially, he looked solid, making a 34-run partnership with Jos Buttler before getting out.
Root remains Ravindra Jadeja’s ‘bunny’
Four times in ODIs and 12 times in total across formats – that’s correct. It’s fair to say that Root’s struggle against this stylish Indian spinner is unreal. Additionally, apart from Joe Root, it is Steve Smith who has had a bad outing against Jadeja, with the Australian star getting out to him a record 11 times.
