IND vs ENG: ‘No complains’ claims Ollie Pope if Indian pitches spin from ball one

IND vs ENG: England won't complain if Indian pitches turn from ball one, claims England vice captain Ollie Pope

England Cricket Team vice captain Ollie Pope has claimed that his side will have no complains should pitches start turning from Day 1. Ahead of the IND vs ENG Test series, Pope has claimed that each home side prepare pitches according to their advantages. He claims England love keeping grass on the pitches so there shouldn’t be a problem if India keeps a spinning track.

Contrary to popular opinion, Ollie Pope went on to claim that he thinks that low-scoring Test matches are amazing to watch. The IND vs ENG 1st Test begins on 25th January at Hyderabad.

“In England we might leave more grass on the pitch to suit our amazing seamers, so it’s no surprise if India do the same to suit their spinners. And I actually think low-scoring Test matches are pretty amazing to watch,” Pope told The Guardian.

England’s vice captain claimed that home teams ready pitches to favour their team. He went on to explain how England leaves grass to suit their pacers. Similarly, Pope has no objections if India prepare rank turning pitches.

“And pitches can be a massive talking point. But you have to remember the two teams are playing on the exact same wicket, so we just need to be as well equipped as we can,” Pope added.
