IND vs ENG LIVE Score: Speaking after the end of Day 3 of the IND vs ENG Headingley Test, Craig Overton said that the onus was on England to make most of the new ball and end India’s hopes. He said, “We’re still in a great position in this game, especially with the new ball in the morning. If we can get a couple of wickets, we can hammer it home a bit more. But credit to them. They made it hard for us, and we’ve got to come back and show what we can do.”
Craig Overton came into the side after Mark Wood injured his shoulder in the eventual Lord’s Test match. The 27-year-old picked up three wickets in the first innings, before getting the better of Lord’s centurion KL Rahul in the second innings. He also chipped in with a valuable 32 down the order, adding onto England’s mammoth lead.
IND vs ENG LIVE Score: England will want to get Virat Kohli early but will continue with their policy of not goading the Indian captain, who they believe feeds off being wound up by opposition verbals. Overton added, “He’s one of the characters that wants to get in the battle. As a side, we’re just trying to make sure that we do our business as we can — and not ignore him, but make sure we stick to the basics.”
