India beat England Highlights: Chasing a small target of 111, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan made a mockery of the conditions and England’s bowling. Rohit smashed 5 sixes as England bowlers kept bowling him short balls. Rohit picked every short ball and hooked or pulled them for 6s. Half the job was done when Jasprit Bumrah picked up the ball in the 2nd over. Sent to bat, England were off to a horrible start After 6 runs in the first over off Shami, Bumrah ripped England apart. His 1st over yielded a maiden and two crucial wickets of Jason Roy and an in-form Joe Root.
Shami picked it up from where Bumrah left it. He sent Ben Stokes back to reduce England to 7-3. But the team that scored 498, a World Record total against the Netherlands in ODI a couple of weeks ago, more humiliation was left.
England tried to recover from that with Jos Buttler leading the fight back but Mohammed Shami and Prasidh Krishna never let England settle. Bumrah from the other end returned to remove Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone to reduce England to 26/5.
Then on, England had a mini fightback thanks to Jos Buttler (30) and Moeen Ali (14) as the duo added 27 runs. But it eventually came to an end as Prasidh Krishna struck to remove Ali. England lost another wicket in Jos Buttler soon after as he succumbed to Shami.
England saw another fightback to avoid 86, their lowest ODI total when David Willey and Brydon Carse added 35 runs for the 9th wickets. But Jasprit Bumrah completed his fifer with Willey’s wicket and then removed Carse to reach his career-best ODI figures of 6/19 to bowl England out for 110, their lowest total against India. Shami bagged 3/31 while Krishna returned with 1/26.
