IND vs ENG Live: The ongoing India vs England fifth Test match has been a game to remember for Rishabh Pant. After scoring a game-changing ton in the first innings, the left-hander has followed it up with a half-century in the second on Monday. With it, Pant (146, 57 ) has become only the second Indian wicketkeeper batter to deliver a ton and half-century in the same Test. Farokh Engineer (121, 66) had achieved the feat against the same nation in Mumbai in 1973. Follow INDIA vs ENGLAND 5th TEST Day 4 LIVE Updates with InsideSport.IN.

There was an element of confidence in his game during the second innings as well. Though Pant looked ultra-aggressive in the first essay, Pant was much more sensible at the middle in the second. When Jack Leach was introduced at the middle, it was always going to be an interesting battle.

Pant does not mind taking on spinners. In fact, he welcomed Leach for a four in his first ball on Day 4. In the next over, it was Leach, who had the final laugh. His aggression cost him dearly.

The left-hander went for a reverse sweep against Leach, but he was caught by Joe Root for a 86-ball 57. One can call that shot quite irresponsible with India just enjoying a lead of 330 runs and the game is still on the fourth day.

Pant walked into bat at number three and did not hit a single six in the innings. His stay at the crease was limited to eight hits to the fence. Pant only managed to add 27 runs from his overnight score. Besides Pant, Cheteshwar Pujara, Shreyas Iyer and Shardul Thakur also lost their wickets in the first session of Day 4 at Edgbaston.
