Cheteshwar Pujara has failed to perform on a consistent basis since 2020. The situation has become so grim that he is yet to score a fifty in the last 10 innings. His scores in last few innings read: 9, 12*, 4, 15, 8, 17, 0, 7, 21, 15 and 73.
In the last 12 matches, Pujara has scored 531 runs at an average of 25.28 which includes five fifties. His last century came in January 2019, Australia.

The senior batsman’s batting woes continue to haunt him on England soil. In a total of 21 innings played on English turf, Pujara has aggregated just 527 runs. His average of 26.35 is one of his lowest compared to what compared to his performance in Australia.
