IND vs ENG LIVE – Anderson & Broad Out: The 39-year-old veteran, who is now the third-highest wicket-taker in the test history, missed training on the eve of the game with a tight quad muscle.
Anderson’s injury further compounds Joe Root’s problems after fellow pacer Stuart Broad was ruled out of the series due to a calf tear. The injuries have further raised questions on England’s relentless schedule which has starved them of red-ball cricket all season.
The England team management drafted Moeen Ali and Saqib Mahmood to their squad and the latter could be handed a surprise debut by Joe Root, as he ponders a winning combination for the Lord’s Test.

IND vs ENG LIVE – Anderson & Broad Out: Should James Anderson and Stuart Broad both miss the marquee Test at Lord’s, it will mark the first time that the superstar duo with over 1100 wickets to their name, will miss home Test in nine years and only the second since 2007. The England management are already dealing with the absence of Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes through injury, while Ben Stokes opted out with mental health issues.
IND vs ENG LIVE: The injuries are rather self-inflicted with the England and Wales Cricket Board prioritising the white-ball game over the season with little red-ball action. Broad and Anderson have given up the shorter formats of the game to prolong their red-ball careers and spent more time in the commentary box than on the field over the past few months. As things stand, Ollie Robinson, who will be playing his third Test at Lord’s, will be tasked as Joe Root’s main man to stop Virat Kohli and Co.
IND vs ENG LIVE – Anderson & Broad Out: England are expected to make wholesale changes after they luckily avoided defeat in the 1st Test at Trent Bridge. The batting has let them down multiple times over the last summer, and the likes of Moeen Ali, Haseeb Hameed and Ollie Pope could return to XI along with Craig Overton or perhaps Mark Wood.
