England Test veteran James Anderson was seemingly miffed with Ravichandran Ashwin’s antics at the popping crease at the start of play on Day 2 of IND vs ENG 2nd Test. The pacer was seen complaining to the umpire after Ashwin, who was at the popping crease, was seen stretching out his arm as Anderson was running in to bowl.

As Yashasvi Jaiswal is waiting for a delivery from Anderson, Ashwin is seen meanwhile waiting at the non-strikers end. As Anderson begins to run in to bowl, the Indian spinner is seen stretching his hand, which seems to have irked Anderson. The bowler stopped short of bowling the delivery and had a word with the umpire.

Earlier at the close of play on Day 1, Ashwin was seen having a conversation with umpire Marais Erasmus.

Veteran gets Indian spinner after antics

Anderson, for the better part of the first hour of the second day, kept getting movement off the pitch, but was unlucky a couple of times, not to get the wicket. But then, soon, he came with a ball, that took the faintest of edges from Ashwin’s bat. Pitched on the middle-stump, the ball nipped away sharply, while Ashwin couldn’t help, but offered a shot.
