Former England skipper Michael Atherton is very sure that India’s Jasprit Bumrah should play the IND vs ENG 5th Test at Dharamsala. Atherton’s remarks come in the background of the chatter on the pacer’s workload management. With Bumrah all set to take part in Rajkot Test, speculations are rife that he would sit out of the Ranchi Test an return for the 5th game at Dharamshala.
IND vs ENG: Atherton wants Bumrah in Dharamsala
In a conversation with Nasser Hussain on Sky Sports, Atherton opines that India would want to play their cracker jacker bowler who can open up the game when the conditions are flat. He further reckons that he thinks playing Bumrah in Rajkot and Dharamshala would work in India’s favour.
“You want your cracker jack bowler, who can open up the game when the conditions are flat. But then it’s a quick turnaround to Ranchi and then Dharamsala where you probably want your seamers to play as it’s a bit cooler.
“I would’ve thought favourite for him is to play here and in Dharamsala. Depending upon how it goes here, they may look to rest him in Ranchi.”
