England opener Ben Duckett stunned Team India and fans with his blazing century on Day 2 of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot on Saturday, February 15. Duckett slammed a 88-ball century in response to India’s 445 in the first innings.
Resuming on overnight score of 133, Duckett completed his second 150 of his Test career in first session of Day 3.
The Englishman became the first English opener to score 150+ runs in a Test innings in Asia after 9 years. Former England captain Alastair Cook was the last to achieve this feat when he scored 263 against Pakistan at Abu Dhabi in 2015.
Duckett slammed 153 before he was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav. His brilliant knock helped him surpass star Indian batter Virat Kohli to set the highest individual Test score at Niranjan Shah Stadium, Rajkot.
The previous record was held by Virat Kohli when he slammed 139 against West Indies in 2018.

India have made a brilliant comeback on Day 3 after an expensive outing in last session of the second day’s play. Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav were the pick of the bowlers for India as England lost three wickets in the first session.
