There is no way one can keep old horse James Anderson out of the game. On the first day of the second India vs England Test, he removed Shubman Gill with a ball that moved late, and on Saturday, he got rid of dangerous R Ashwin with a delivery that showed his class.
Anderson, for the better part of the first hour of the second day, kept getting movement off the pitch, but was unlucky a couple of times, not to get the wicket. But then, soon, he came with a ball, that took the faintest of edges from Ashwin’s bat. Pitched on the middle-stump, the ball nipped away sharply, while Ashwin couldn’t help, but offered a shot.
The India all-rounder was dismissed for 20, leaving Team India in a spot of bother, with 400 quite some distance away. What was special about the dismissal was, Anderson managed to get the movement from the surface, which is generally conducive for spin bowling.
