PCA Mohali to host golfing, net sessions for England cricket team

Meanwhile, the Indian team will assemble in Dharamshala after the Ranchi Test.

The England cricket team will enjoy a rejuvenating stopover at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium in Mohali before heading to Dharamshala for the fifth and final Test against India. During their four-day break, the Ben Stokes & Co will have access to the stadium’s training facilities for net sessions and unwind with a spot of golf at the renowned PCA golf course.

This break comes after the third Test in Rajkot (February 15) and the fourth Test in Ranchi (February 23). The final Test in Dharamshala starts on March 7, giving the England team ample time to rest, strategize, and prepare.

“The BCCI has requested PCA to host the English team before the Dharamsala Test,” shared PCA secretary Dilsher Khanna as per Hindustan Times. “They can utilize the PCA Stadium’s training facilities and enjoy some golf during their extended tour.”

IND vs ENG 5th Test: England Cricket Team at PCA Mohali

Meanwhile, the Indian team will assemble in Dharamshala after the Ranchi Test.

This stopover at PCA Mohali is significant for two reasons. Firstly, it highlights the impressive renovation of the stadium, which caught the eye of BCCI secretary Jay Shah during the India-Afghanistan T20I match in January. Secondly, it showcases the development of PCA’s second international stadium at Mullanpur, which is nearing completion after a decade of construction.

With access to top-notch training facilities and a chance to unwind, the England team can utilize this break strategically to recharge and prepare for the crucial final Test against India in Dharamshala. The upcoming matches promise to be an exciting culmination to an already enthralling Test series.
