Rohit was particularly troubled by the Indian Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna, who featured for Leicestershire in the practice game. The seamers bowled back of the length and at pace, giving Rohit no leeway to play his shots. Bumrah also registered a hit on the body, with the Indian captain quickly calling a physio.
However, it was Roman Walker who delivered the wicket as Rohit tried to take charge of the situation. The Indian captain tried to pull a slightly short pitch delivery, only for a top edge to play straight into the hands of Abidine Sakande.
Rohit had a lacklustre IPL and the Indian captain will hope to turn around his form ahead of the series. The Hit-Man was India’s top run-getter during the four matches last year, helping India to a 2-1 series lead.
