1. Virat Kohli

Though there are many Indian cricketers who have not been in the best of forms recently, perhaps the name that should come at number 1 is of Virat Kohli. The former Indian skipper did not look in good touch at all in the recently-concluded IPL 2022. He scored 341 runs in 16 matches at an average of 22.73, which does not justify both the stature and the capability of the player. Kohli will be determined for a better show here in England.

2. Rohit Sharma

Like Virat Kohli, another superstar batter in Rohit Sharma has also not been in good touch in recent times. His numbers are even worse, as in IPL 2022, Sharma scored 268 runs at an average of less than 20. Given that he is the captain of the team, a lot will depend on Rohit Sharma and he would not be willing to let his team down.

3. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja was India’s best player in their last Test series, which was against Sri Lanka in March. Back then, the all-rounder looked absolutely unstoppable, but he was stopped by anyone and everyone in IPL 2022. Jadeja scored 116 runs only, at an average of 19.33, while he picked up merely 5 wickets in 10 matches at an average of almost 50. He will be looking to redeem himself in this series.

4. Mohammed Siraj

Besides Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj is another Royal Challengers Bangalore player who had a poor IPL 2022 and will now look to get back in form with this outing. The speedster picked up only 9 wickets in IPL 2022.

5. Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara’s story is slightly different from the other four mentions on this list. India’s Test specialist was not a part of IPL 2022 for obvious reasons, but the upcoming tour will be a make-or-break contest for him as well, as he was not selected in the Test series against South Africa. Pujara had a fantastic county stint with Sussex and will now aim to replicate the same form for India.
