IND vs ENG 4th Test: Prasidh Krishna added to squad: Virat Kohli & Co have added stand-by pacer Prasidh Krishna India’s squad ahead of the 4th Test in Oval, starting tomorrow (Sept 2). While there is no injury crisis at the moment, it has been done to manage workload of Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah ahead of the IPL 2021 and T20 World Cup.
“The All-India Senior Selection Committee – based on the request of the team management – has added fast bowler Prasidh Krishna to India’s squad for the fourth Test. Prasidh, who was on the standby list has been training and travelling with Team India right from the start of the tour,” the BCCI said in a statement.

IND vs ENG 4th Test: Adding Prasidh is an interesting choice especially when Umesh Yadav, Shardul Thakur both are available for selection besides Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma.
IND vs ENG 4th Test: Will Prasidh Krishna play the 4th Test?
However, it is not a far-fetched idea to imagine that Prasidh Krishna will make his debut in the 4th Test. With both Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami set for rotation due to workload management, Virat Kohli may look at Prasidh as an option especially with Ishant Sharma struggling.
