IND vs ENG 3rd Test: Blow for England, Mark Wood ruled out of Headingley Test; Saqib Mahmood all set to make Test debut

IND vs ENG LIVE – Mark Wood Injured: “Wood sustained the injury on the fourth day of the second Test at Lord’s and will not be fit to play at Emerald Headingley starting on Wednesday,” the statement read. The ECB further said that Wood will remain with the squad in Leeds and will continue his rehab with the England medical team. The 31-year-old will undergo a final assessment at the end of the third Test match.

Mahmood has so far represented England in 7 ODIs and 9 T20Is picking up 14 and 7 wickets respectively. He was awarded the ‘Player of the Series’ after claiming 9 wickets during England’s 3-0 win against Pakistan in the recently concluded ODI series. Besides this, Mahmood has an impressive List A and First-Class record at Lancashire with 129 wickets in 56 appearances.
