Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja on Thursday followed the footsteps of Indian captain Rohit Sharma and slammed a century to bring India out of a tricky situation on the first day of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test. Jadeja, who came on third down and steadied the Indian ship after the initial collapse, celebrated his century with this signature sword celebration.

Jadeja came in to bat when India lost three batters within just 33 runs on the first day of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test. He built a fantastic partnership with Indian captain Rohit Sharma to help India move on course to a huge total. The duo put up a partnership of 204 runs that saw the momentum shift towards India.

Ahead of the IND vs ENG 3rd Test in Rajkot, Kuldeep Yadav has provided an update on Ravindra Jadeja's fitness.

Although Rohit departed for 131 runs, Jadeja carried on his innings with debutant Sarfaraz Khan. Jadeja took the role of an anchor after Sarfaraz’s arrival. He looked to maneuver balls in gaps and take singles as Sarfaraz took the attack to the opposition.

Jadeja brought up his century in almost 200 balls. It was an innings fans are not very used to seeing of Jadeja, but the innings showed Jadeja has the maturity to play according to the team’s needs.

After the century, Jadeja brought out his signature sword celebration. Jadeja twirled his bat with his left hand and the Rajkot crowd erupted in delight and applauded the efforts of the hometown boy.
