The visitors were bundled for 78, registering their third-lowest score against England in Test matches. Besides, this is India’s 9th overall lowest score in the red ball game.

Besides, the Indian team registered yet another unwanted record. Virat Kohli led side registered India’s second-lowest total on the first day of a Test match. 75 runs against West Indies in India in 1987 still remains India’s lowest total on the first day of a Test match.

England bowlers nearly tamed the entire unit and kept scalping regular wickets. The likes of English pacers- James Anderson (3-6), Ollie Robinson (2-16), Sam Curran (2-27) and  Craig Overton (3-14) showcased a dominant display with the ball at Headingley.
