IND vs ENG 3rd ODI: Shami & Jadeja rested, Arshdeep & Washington Sundar In as game time eludes Rishabh Pant

India have made 3 changes to the Playing XI in the 3rd ODI match at Ahmedabad

The India Cricket Team has made 3 changes to their Playing XI for the IND vs ENG 3rd ODI at Ahmedabad. Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, and Arshdeep Singh make a return to the team. Meanwhile, Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja have been rested for this dead rubber match. However, Rishabh Pant continues to warm the bench.

While Shami and Ravindra Jadeja get a brief break, Rohit Sharma however gave a bit of sad news. He claimed that spinner Varun Chakravarthy too is missing the game, but with an injury. The Hitman further added that the leggie has a sore calf and thus has to sit out from the game.

First chance for Arshdeep & Washington Sundar

I wanted to bat first and put runs on the board because we bowled first in the last two games. It was important for us to get a win in the last game. The fielders potrayed themselves well in the last two games, a lot of young blood. We want to continue to do well in the field. They are pretty new in their careers so we want to keep the pressure away from them. let them do their own and they have got a lot of potential. We have made some changes – Jadeja and Shami have been rested, unfortunately Varun has a sore calf. So, Washi, Kuldeep and Arshdeep come into the side,” Rohit Sharma said during the Toss.

With three players missing out, means three players get a chance in the team. Kuldeep Yadav who was rested in the previous game, makes his return to the Playing XI. However, it is for the first time in this series that Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar make their way to the middle.

With Jasprit Bumrah out of the ICC Champions Trophy, Arshdeep is a strong contender to become the second pacer in the Indian setup. The addition of Washington Sundar in the squad adds strength to the all-rounders’ department. Meanwhile, game time continues to elude Rishabh Pant. The keeper is set to warm the bench for the third time in a row as KL Rahul takes his preferred spot behind the stumps.
