IND vs ENG 2nd Test: Ahead of Test debut, Rajat Patidar shines in Nets practice, plays comprehensive sweep shots

The India Cricket Team had a gruelling session in Vizag ahead of the IND vs ENG 2nd Test. Soon to get Test debut, Rajat Patidar had to wait for his for his batting chance. Team India relied heavily on their batting practice after their 2nd innings collapse in Hyderabad.

Rohit Sharma, Yashavi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill were the top order batters who headed straight into the nets. Shubman Gill had an extended batting session under close observation by Rahul Dravid. On the other hand, Patidar had to wait for an hour and a half before getting his chance in the nets.

Washington Sundar too hit the nets. While Kuldeep Yadav is expected to get the nod ahead of the off spinner as the third spinner in the Playing XI. On the other hand, Patidar is patiently awaiting his chance to get his awaited Test debut. Patidar has been performing well in domestic setup and KL Rahul’s injury has fast-tracked his spot in the team.

All the batters, from Rohit Sharma to Shreyas Iyer practiced sweep and reverse sweep shots. India has approached his counterattacking method to tackle English spinners. Rohit had a short discussion with Patidar before the latter hit the nets.

In the nets, Patidar faced the spin duo of Ravi Ashwin and Axar Patel. The 30-year-old batter continued to counter to spin duo by playing his sweep shots.
