IND vs ENG 2nd Test: England pacer Mark Wood claims after 1st Test win, England has given India something to think about

England pacer Mark Wood has fired warning shots to India Cricket Team after England’s win in the IND vs ENG 1st Test. England rose from the dead to clinch a 28 run victory in Hyderabad. India were bowled out by England’s spin attack on Day 4. However, Mark Wood has claimed that with this win, England have given India something to think about.

One of the major topics making the headlines will be about Vizag’s pitch. Will the pitch be a batting paradise or a rank turner? Under this context, Wood claimed that he has no idea what the pitch will be, but England have surely raised a question to India that the Three Lions can counter spin and beat India in their own backyard.

“I don’t know what they will produce next, they have the potential to do any wicket they want. But now we’ve given them something to think about,” Mark Wood told The Belfast Telegraph.

“It’s one of our greatest wins, that tells you how big it was, and now we know we can do it. They now have to come up with a different plan,” Wood added.

Picking up a rank turner can backfire on the Indian batting line-up. On the other hand, too seam friendly pitch will be a blessing in disguise for England. They already have Ollie Robinson and James Anderson waiting on the bench to make a comeback in the IND vs ENG 2nd Test.

“It could (happen again) depending on what they produce. Going forward, for all the seam bowling group, we know that could be the statement and it’s about getting your mind around how to approach it,” Wood concluded.
