IND vs ENG 2nd Test: Kuldeep Yadav set for Test return after 1 year in absence of Ravindra Jadeja

Kuldeep Yadav is likely to get a chance in the India Playing XI for the IND vs ENG 2nd Test. Despite not being a regular in India’s Test setup, Kuldeep is likely to get the nod ahead of Washington Sundar. The leggie will get his chance courtesy of the injured Ravindra Jadeja.

India Cricket Team has been plagued with injuries. Ravindra Jadeja is the new addition to the list after having pulled a hamstring injury on Day 4 of the Hyderabad Test.

Kuldeep Yadav has played only 8 Test matches since his debut in 2017. He has played just 4 Test matches in India while the rest 4 are in overseas conditions. India doesn’t prefer left arm chinaman in home conditions, which explains Kuldeep’s absence in red ball cricket.

But now with no Jadeja in the mixes, Kuldeep is expected to get the nod ahead of Washington Sundar. The Vizag pitch too has come under the scanner. Though Vikram Rathour has claimed the pitch will favour spinners, but won’t turn on Day 1.

Kuldeep Yadav last played a Test match for India against Bangladesh at Chattogram in December of 2022. Following which he hasn’t featured in red ball cricket for India. It remains to be seen how Kuldeep fairs against the Three Lions in the IND vs ENG 2nd Test.
