IND vs ENG 2nd ODI: Shubman Gill just 85 runs away from creating history in ODIs

Shubman Gill is on the verge of overtaking Hasim Amla to create history in the IND vs ENG 2nd ODI

India cricket team batter Shubman Gill is on the verge of creating history in IND vs ENG 2nd ODI. The vice-captain top-scored for the Mein in Blue with a 87-run knock in the 1st ODI in Nagpur. Now, he needs just 85 runs more to become the first batter in the world to score 2500 runs in less than 50 matches. India will take on England in the 2nd ODI at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack on Sunday.

Gill on cusp of creating history

Currently, Hashim Amla holds the record for the fastest to reach 2500 runs in ODIs. The former South African batter took 53 innings to reach the milestone. Talking about Gill, he has 2415 runs so far from 48 matches. It will be interesting to see what position Gill bats at in today’s match. Previously he batted at number 3, filling in the shoes of Virat Kohli who missed the 1st ODI due to a swelling in his right knee.
