IND vs ENG 1st Test: Jasprit Bumrah bags 6th five-wicket haul in Test to lead India’s fightback: What a start India’s speedster Jasprit Bumrah had to the second edition of the World Test Championship where India is playing the first Test of the five-match series against England. Bumrah came out with the lighting torch just when England seemed to conquer India in the second innings. The ace bowler scalped a fifer that included the big wicket of centurion Joe Root and returned with his 6th five-wicket haul in this aspect.

The lanky pacer has rusted off the maligned image he acquired in the WTC final against New Zealand in Southampton where he went wicketless. In the two innings he has played for India in the ongoing Test against the Three Lions, Bumrah has scalped a total of 9 wickets and returned with a brilliant economy of 2.77.

Moreso, he contributed vital 28 runs during India’s first innings that helped the hosts get a 95-run lead in the first innings. While doing so, he smashed three fours and one six and also registered his personal best with the bat in the whites.

His overall 6th fifer, the current feat has registered his second 5-wicket haul at Trent Bridge.

The 27-year old took crucial wickets of Dominic Sibley, Zak Crawley, centurion Joe Root, Sam Curran and Start Broad. In fact, he sent Curran and Broad to the Pavilion in successive deliveries.

No sooner Bumrah rattled 5 wickets, Indian skipper Virat Kohli also celebrated the former’s achievement.
