England’s Test skipper Ben Stokes led England’s fightback on his return from injury with a brilliant fifty on Day 1 of the IND vs ENG 1st Test in Hyderabad.
England were reeling at 155/7 after opting to bat before Stokes decided to unleash. The England all-rounder stitched a quick 38-run partnership with debutant Tom Hartley and then partnered with Mark Wood to push India over 225 on a tricky Hyderabad pitch.
Notably, the 32-year-old underwent a knee surgery in November and was away from cricket for almost 3 months.
