India and England will square off at the Kia Oval on Tuesday with India looking to take a headstart in the three-match ODI series. The Oval has traditionally been a high-scoring ground, with scores in excess of 300 a bare minimum at the venue. In the last game at the venue, Sri Lanka managed just 241 batting first, with England comfortably chasing it down with 8 wickets and seven overs to spare.
Oval was one of the main venues for the ICC World Cup 2019, with teams scoring in excess of 300 in four of the five completed games. The conditions are expected to favour batting once again with short boundaries and fast outfields. The new ball bowlers could extract some movement early on, but it is set to be a batter’s paradise. Captain winning the toss is likely to bat first on Tuesday.
