The India Cricket Team registered a sensational 280 run win in the IND vs BAN 1st Test in Chennai. Among the many positives, one of the biggest is that now India has more Test wins than losses. For the first time, Team India now has more wins than losses the longest format of the game.

India has played a total of 580 games since their advent into the game. With the win over Bangladesh, India now has 179 wins, one greater than 178 losses. India has 222 draws a solitary tied game. And courtesy of the win, India now has the win/loss ratio greater than 1 (1.005).

Since playing their first Test match in 1932, it has taken India 92 years to have more Test wins than losses. Apart from India, Australia, England, South Africa and Pakistan have more Test wins than losses. However, has less Test wins as compared to India.

Coming to the game, India registered a ruthless 280 run over Bangladesh to take a 1-0 lead in the India vs Bangladesh Test series. The credit for the victory largely goes to the hometown hero Ravi Ashwin for his all-round heroics. Ashwin slammed a stunning hundred in the first innings and then wove his magic to scalp a six-fer in the fourth innings to secure a comfortable and comprehensive victory.
