In the 2nd ODI  Washington Sundar shined with the ball taking three wickets and conceding 37 runs. The all-rounder is currently the leading wicket-taker for Team India in the series with 5 wickets. Coming to Sundar’s wickets in the IND vs BAN 2nd ODI, the off-spinner opened his wicket tally with the all-important wicket of all-rounder Shakib-al-Hasan.

The off-spinner flighted delivery from round the wicket, forcing Shakib to go for a slog sweep. However, the former Bangladesh skipper mistimed the shot giving a catch to Shikhar Dhawan. Mushfiqur Rahim was the next to go after gloving the delivery to Shikhar Dhawan at leg slip. Sundar got his third wicket with a slider ball which Afif Hossain failed to connect with the delivery crashing onto the off stump.

The all-rounder recently made his comeback to Team India from injury during the New Zealand tour. The left-handed batsman looked good with the bat during the ODI series chipping in with a vital contribution.

Sundar’s ability with the bat and recent form should keep Ravichandran Ashwin out of the reckoning. The veteran offspinner had made a limited-overs comeback last year but now is again out of favour. Washington’s return to full fitness has not helped Ashwin’s cause as his exile continues.

Earlier Bangladesh had won the toss and decided to bat first, Mohammed Siraj dismissed opener Anamul Haque and skipper Litton Das, while Umran Malik dismissed Najmul Hossain Shanto. Washington Sundar caused a mini collapse picking up wickets of Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim and Afif Hossain. Team India looked in complete command of India vs Bangladesh 2nd ODI with bowlers reducing the host to 80/6.
