IND vs BAN: Rating Indian bowlers as Rohit Sharma tries 8 different options in T20 World Cup warm-up

The India cricket team played their only T20 World Cup 2024 warmup game against Bangladesh in New York. Let's see how every Indian bowler fared while defending 183.

A convincing victory for the Indian cricket team. Rohit Sharma and co. were brilliant and outplayed Bangladesh in all three departments. Playing their only T20 World Cup warm-up match, Team India ticked all the boxes ahead of their four Group Stage A matches. Rohit tried seven batters and gave eight bowlers a try while defending 183 runs at Nassau Stadium.

IND vs BAN T20 World Cup warm-up: Bowler Ratings

Arshdeep Singh (9/10):

The left-arm pacer was splendid in the powerplay. Not only did he send Soumya Sarkar and Litton Das back into the hut, but he gave away just 3 runs in his two overs. He swung the ball a mile and bamboozled left and right-handers alike. Arshdeep returned for a third over in the death and bowled accurate yorkers, giving away 9 runs.

Jasprit Bumrah (9/10):

As India’s and arguably the world’s best bowler, Rohit decided to give Bumrah just two overs. He bowled one up front, giving away just 5 runs, and returned in the death to bowl a meagerly 7-run over and scalp Shakib Al Hasan’s wicket by bowling a deadly bouncer.

Mohammed Siraj (8.5/10):

A good outing for someone whose main skill is powerplay bowling. As usual, Siraj did well in the powerplay (1/2) but later returned in the middle and death overs to showcase his overall brilliance. Although he went for 11 in his second over, he returned to bowl an incredible 17th over, in which he gave away just 4 runs.

Hardik Pandya (6/10):

After a great batting performance, the star pace-bowling all-rounder delivered an underwhelming bowling performance. He bowled a good ninth over where he got a wicket and gave just 1 run. However, in his other two overs (5th and 15th), he leaked 29 runs.

T20 World Cup

Axar Patel (8.5/10):

Despite conceding three wides, Axar ended his two-over spell with one wicket and 10 runs. He tied the batters up and showed why he can be the perfect middle overs bowler even on unfriendly pitches.

Shivam Dube (5.5/10):

Dube’s dibbly-dobbly bowling worked wonders on Bangladeshi batters. He got two wickets and had an economy of 4.3 in his 3 overs, but one has to question whether his slow-pace bowling will be useful to India against top sides.

Kuldeep Yadav (7/10):

Kuldeep proved to be India’s most unsuccessful bowler today. In his short 2-over spell, he went against Shakib and Mahmudullah, two of the finest players of spin. He was negated by the duo but will be the biggest weapon in Rohit Sharma’s arsenal in the coming games.

Ravindra Jadeja (7/10):

Jadeja was tight, as he always is. But, if compared with his direct competitor, Axar Patel, he wasn’t good enough today. He earlier failed with the bat and didn’t do anything memorable with the ball.
