IND vs BAN Practice LIVE: In the final practice session ahead of India vs Bangladesh game, Ishan Kishan, Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja were the only players to have nets session. While the full team practised on Tuesday, the focus on Wednesday was on Shubman Gill once again. He had a full practice session on Wednesday in Pune. Rohit Sharma & Virat Kohli were not present. India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey also gave some insights on the thought process behind benching R Ashwin and Mohammad Shami.
For the uninitiated, Aswhin has played only one game against Australia in Chennai. In the remaining two matches against Afghanistan and Pakistan, Thakur played as the pitch in Delhi, and Ahmedabad did not aid spinners. However, the Pune pitch traditionally aids spinners, as the surface is pretty low. During the IPL matches in 2020 and 2021 the surface assisted spinners, and the matches were also low-scoring ones.
However, the match between IND vs BAN will be played on a newly laid Pune surface. No one knows what to expect on this new surface. Recently, the Delhi surface was renovated and it was a batting surface rather than the spin-friendly pitches which Arun Jaitely Stadium used to be.

Ashwin is in focus as India hopes to keep its winning streak against Bangladesh
To note, yesterday Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma opted to have a net session in the optional practice session. But today, in the training session, the focus will be more on the bowlers, and Ashwin in particular as India aim to fix combinations for the game against Bangladesh.
With Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav in red-hot form in the World Cup, Ashwin can slot in the place of only Shardul Thakur. The all-rounder has so far been a big disappointment in two matches in the World Cup. The pacer bowled only two overs against Pakistan and conceded 12 runs.
