Even though Sanju Samson ensured that IND vs BAN third T20I in Hyderabad, would only be remembered for his whirlwind innings, there was something that took the sheen off his effort. The match being played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium saw a power cut that disrupted the proceedings for a few minutes.
The incident happened during the ninth over of the Indian innings, when Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav were toying with the Bangladeshi bowlers. Even through the break did not result in any loss of overs, but still emerged as a blot on the stadium itself, which has, more often that not, found itself getting embroiled in controversies.
Back in April 2024, a report had emerged, that spoke about the INR 1.64 Cr uncleared dues by the HCA, for TSSPDCL (Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited). If various reports are to be believed, the dues were from 2015.
Sanju Samson & Suryakumar Yadav go Berserk
As far as the match is concerned, Sanju Samson showed why he is rated so highly. The Kerala man slammed his maiden T20I ton as he reached the milestone in only 40 deliveries to stun the opponents. On the other hand, Suryakumar wasn’t far behind as he scored 20th fifty of his career, taking India to a position of strength.
He eventually scored 75 from 35, while Hardik Pandya and Riyan Parag followed the suit. Earlier in the series, India had beaten Bangladesh in the first two matches rather convincingly. In the first one at Gwalior, India chased down 128 easily, followed by an over 80-run win in Delhi, where Nitish Reddy went berserk.
Bangladesh are yet to find a win in the series, as they had lost the Test series also 0-2, against a strong Indian side, in September.
