India cricket team will be eyeing to continue their dominance against Bangladesh as the two sides will lock horns in IND vs BAN 2nd T20I in New Delhi on Wednesday. Suryakumar Yadav and co. began the series with a bang, completing the run-chase in a whirlwind fashion to go 1-0 up in the series. The visitors will hope to hand the T20 World Cup champions an upset at the Arun Jaitley stadium, the chances of which are very bleak.
India eye to continue winning streak
India have won remained unbeaten in a series at home in the shortest format since 2022. Their last series loss came in June 2022 to South Africa where the series was drawn 1-1. If Suryakumar Yadav and co. do win the 2nd T20I against Bangladesh in New Delhi, then they will extend their winning streak at home to seven series in a row. Given that the pitch at the Arun CJaitley stadium is heavily favourable for the batters, a run fest is on the cards for sure!
Team (against) | Year | Result |
Australia | 2022 | 2-1 |
South Africa | 2022 | 2-1 |
Sri Lanka | 2023 | 2-1 |
New Zealand | 2023 | 2-1 |
Australia | 2023 | 4-1 |
Afghanistan | 2024 | 2-0 |
All boxes are currently ticked for India in the ongoing series – from the openers to the middle-order to the bowling department. After handing debuts to Mayank Yadav and Nitesh Reddy in the 1st T20I, it remains to be seen if pacer Harshit Rana will get his maiden cap at his hometown. The top-order is likely to remain unchanged while India might contemplate brining in Ravi Bishnoi into the XI.

Bangladesh desperate to end winless run
India have the upper hand against Bangladesh when it comes to head to head stats in T20Is. The Tigers have managed to win only one game out of 15 times they two sides have faced off. Their last victory against the Men in Blue came way back in 2019, when the side beat India by 7 wickets in the very same venue.
Bangladesh hope to avoid Gwalior rerun
Bangladesh were pretty much steamrolled by the Indian team, across departments in Gwalior. A poor show from the batters resulted in the visitors being bowled out for just 127 runs. A horrific start from the BAN batters saw just skipper Shanto go past a double digit score among the top six. It was Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s 35-run cameo that saved face for the team, but not for long. India completed the run chase within 11.5 overs, clearly outclassing Shanto & co. The bowlers were terrible with the ball and managed to take just two wickets (and a run out) before Hardik Pandya wreaked havoc.
Bangladesh will hope to rather avoid the same fate in Delhi and will instead try to replicate their feat from 2019 when they handed India their only loss to the side in T20Is.
