IND vs BAN 1st Test: Chattogram Test LIVE: Russel Domingo is expecting India not to play like England while countering KL Rahul’s call on ‘Bazball’. Having lost the ODI series, team India is out to settle the scores by winning the two-match test series. In absence of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul will be leading the team in the IND vs BAN 1st Test. The stand-in skipper had promised to play an attacking brand of cricket against Bangladesh. Follow India vs Bangladesh LIVE Updates on InsideSport.IN.

Following the appointment of Brendon McCullum as the head coach England has been playing an aggressive brand of cricket. The new approach by the three lions is called as ‘Bazball’. Team India are also ready to follow a similar approach. But while results have been positive so far for England Bangladesh coach believes India will not be able to follow a similar pattern.

“Not sure how India will go, they are also quite an orthodox team in the way they play but they have players who can take the game away very quickly. Not expecting India to try and play like England, I don’t think that’s their style at the moment,” Domingo said.

IND vs BAN 1st Test: KL Rahul promises aggressive cricket during test series

As Team India look to clinch a spot in the WTC final, stand-in skipper for Test KL Rahul admitted to taking inspiration from England’s aggressive brand of cricket.

“It’s very exciting to see the way England are playing. It has worked for them really well. Every team has its own way of playing. We also have to play aggressively to be in contention for the WTC Finals,” KL Rahul said on Monday.

Things India needs to do to qualify for World Test Championship final

The two-match test series against Bangladesh will be important for India as they aim to qualify for the World Test Championship (WTC) 2022 final. With Pakistan losing to England they are out of the qualification race. Ahead of the series against Bangladesh, India are 4th on the WTC points table.

For India to stand any chance of making it to the final they have to register wins in all six remaining matches. Apart from two test matches against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma and co are scheduled to face Australia in four-match tests series at home. If India manages to win all their matches the winning percentage will rise to 68.06 guaranteeing them a place in the final for the second straight time.

If India ends up losing one match they would still make it through to the final with 62.5 percent, edging out South Africa who are currently 2nd on the WTC points table. 2nd placed South Africa. However, if India ends up losing more than one match then they can bid goodbye to their qualification chances with Australia and South Africa fighting for the title.
