IND vs AUS: Ravindra Jadeja Ball Tampering – Star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made an incredible comeback to cricket in the first day of the opening Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after missing five months due to injury. He picked up his 11th five-wicket haul as the hosts bowled out Australia for just 177. The incident occurred after the visitors were split into 120 for 5. By that point, Jadeja had already claimed three wickets after dismissing Steve Smith, Matt Renshaw, and Marnus Labuschagne. The left-arm spinner was observed using his right hand to remove something from Siraj’s palm and rubbing it on his bowling hand’s index finger. Jadeja was never seen putting the material on the ball in the video.

Ravi Shastri, though, responded bluntly before explaining that Jadeja was putting ointment on his index finger. “I have not heard much about it. I have asked two questions. Was there any problem with the Australian team? The answer was ‘no’. Did the match referee come into play? He wad told about it, he cleared everything, matter ends.
“Why are we discussing anybody else? And to be honest, ointment as a reliever, the match referee would have been told if there was any decision to be taken or action, he would have taken it. By the way, on this track, you don’t need anything, the ball will turn,” he said.
Although the incident sparked debate on social media and in the media, it has been discovered that the Australian team failed to inform the match referee of the circumstance.
