When Shami faced the debutant in the 131st over of the Indian innings, he hit him for a big six on the offside and then followed it up with a powerful slog through midwicket.
The explosive batter was struck out in the very next over by Murphy, who ultimately emerged victorious with his seventh wicket of the innings. The Indian pacer put in another significant effort, but this time he only produced a top edge, which was easily caught by the wicketkeeper. His exciting inning, which included two fours and three sixes, helped the Indian total by an important 37 runs.

Meanwhile, India’s first innings ended with them being bowled out for 400. With this, the hosts took a comfortable 223 run lead. Axar Patel stood out with his 84-run inning, which helped India take the lead as they passed the 200-run threshold. The all-rounder absolutely destroyed the Australians at the VCA Stadium.
