IND vs AUS: Jadeja lures Labuschagne with flighted delivery, traps Renshaw plum in front, gets Smith wicket by roughing him up
Labuschagne’s wicket was a classic left-hand bowler’s wicket as Jadeja lured the batter with a flighted delivery and deceived him in flight. The right-hand batter went forward to defend, but instead lost his shape completely and was stumped. Renshaw was trapped in front of a slightly quicker delivery. The ball hit a fuller length on the middle from round the wicket, Renshaw tried flicking it away but was beaten by the turn and struck on the pad.
Steve Smith’s dismissal was the best of the lot as the off-spinner roughed him by bowling all three balls in the same spot – full and around off. While Smith defended the first two balls, in the third he could not get his bat in time as the ball went right through Smith. The former Australia captain’s wicket brought the Nagpur crowd to its feet. One of the users shared Smith’s wicket video and wrote, “Jadeja ate Sandpaper for lunch.”
