The contest between Indian off-spinners and Australian batters was briefly stopped when an intruder entered the playing area before being tackled by security personnel. According to social media videos that have gone viral, the intruder received a strong reply from the guards and was slapped several times. But, soon after, Mohammed Shami intervened and motioned for the officers to remove him without injuring him. The pacer was applauded by fans on social media for his gesture. Watch the video below. Coming to the match, team India had many reasons to celebrate. Indian bowlers once again dominated the opposition after Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara got a guard of honour from his Indian teammates upon playing his 100th Test.
The Australians were quickly pushed back after Pat Cummins made the decision to bat first by dismissing fiery opener David Warner (15) in the 16th over. R Ashwin came next, who had previously given the visitors nightmares by removing Steven Smith (0), and Marnus Labuschagne (18) in the 23rd over. But, Usman Khwaja, who has flawlessly held the fort from one end and has already reached his half-century, allowed Aussies to breathe a sigh of relief.
