Is it the return of the King? Virat Kohli has finally slammed a Test fifty, his only second in the entire 2024 calendar year. The ace India Cricket Team batter has been in poor form off late failing to score runs. Questions were raised about his form and selection, but now with the stage being set, steps up to perform in the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Virat Kohli managed to score just 5 runs in the first innings of the IND vs AUS 1st Test. But come the second innings, he looked brimming with confidence from the beginning. After KL Rahul’s dismissal, he walked fast into the crease and thumped Jaiswal’s fist.
Virat Kohli slams gritty Fifty
Kohli looked in good touch from the beginning and went on to tackle the opposition. He slammed 3 fours and a solitary six to reach his fifty in stunning style.
It has been a much-needed knock which Kohli has been desperately wanting. In what has been a rather poor calendar year for the ace batter, Kohli has notched a much-needed fifty in Perth. His only other Test half-century this year came in Bengaluru against New where he managed to score 70 runs.
With four more Test matches to go, the India Cricket Team fans will be desperately wanting Kohli to continue this form so that India can come out on top of the Aussies.
