IND vs AUS Test Series: Jasprit Bumrah Injury – BCCI selector Sridharan Sharath is not too worried about Jasprit Bumrah missing at least two Test matches against Australia. Rohit Sharma confirmed that the Mumbai Pacer is likely to make comeback in the last two Test matches of the four-match series. Sharath though is confident that Mohammed Shami and Siraj’s pace, swing, and variety will hurt Aussies in the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Follow IND vs AUS Test Series Live Updates with InsideSport.IN.

“Even without Bumrah, we have Mohammed Shami, Mohammed Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and the in-form Jaidev Unadkat. We have pace, swing, and variety to hurt the Aussie line-up,” Sridharan Sharath told Sportstar.

IND vs AUS Test Series: Why Sharath feels Siraj and Shami’s swing pace and variety will hurt Australia?

  • Over the past two years, Siraj has gone on to become India’s go-to bowler in Test matches.
  • Like Bumrah, Siraj has a lot of variations and can swing and seam the ball both ways.
  • Siraj is also on top of his game as he recently became the number-one bowler in ODI Rankings.
  • The right-ram pacer also had a breakthrough Border Gavaskar Trophy last year, picking up over 15 wickets.
  • Meanwhile, Shami has been the backbone of the Indian attack for four years now.
  • The veteran has picked up over 200 wickets in Test matches and is the most experienced pacer in Bumrah’s absence.

IND vs AUS: When will Jasprit Bumrah likely to return to the Indian team

A BCCI official confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah won’t be rushed back to the Indian team. “It’s very unlikely that Jasprit will be at his 100% for the Australia series. One thing is certain, no matter which series we play, he won’t be rushed back again. Back injuries take time and rehab is a lengthy process. At this moment, he is unfit for selection and how long it will take for him to return is still doubtful. It will take another month or probably,” a senior BCCI official told InsideSport.

India are due to play Australia in four Test matches starting on February 9. India are the current holder of the Border Gavaskar Trophy winning the series in 2020-21.
