However, David Warner, who has not really succeeded in India in Tests, is already burned out. He will skip the Cricket Australia award ceremony to be with his family.

“It’s been challenging. I’m quite tired, exhausted,” David Warner told reporters after a BBL game.

Australia will also be mindful that they have not won a Test series against India in the last three meetings. Australia’s last Test series win against India came in 2014 in Australia. As for Australia’s record in India, the World No 1 Test side has not won in India since the 2004-05 series.

Australia’s white-ball specialist Marcus Stoinis has also set a target of winning the Test series in India.

“We don’t want to lose our trophy this time even though our team never wants to lose it as it could be the third time but we don’t want to give up this year. Our squad is too strong and facing India on their soil is a bit difficult as we have to play on spin tracks over there,” he said.

“India have some specialist bowlers like Ashwin and Jadeja. Those can really bowl well but we are also coming with some specialist spinners, so you can expect a good competition this time,” he said.
