IND vs AUS Test: Border-Gavaskar Trophy – No Test series win in India since 2004-05, three consecutive series loss and Australia are determined to bounce back. After preparing for Border-Gavaskar Trophy on a specially-made turning pitch, Australia made another secret plan to trounce Rohit Sharma-led India. Aussies have invited Jammu & Kashmir’s mystery spinner Abid Mushtaq to their Bangalore camp. The reason? To counter the Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja threat. Australia arrived in Bengaluru on Wednesday ahead of the 4-match Test series. Following the 5-day camp, Australia will fly to Nagpur for the 1st Test that starts on February 9. With 39 wickets in just 6 Tests at home, Axar Patel has already set a record and Australia are wary of how destructive he can be. Ravindra Jadeja on the other hand is widely respected in the Australian camp. With 172 Test wickets in 36 matches at a 20.66 average, he has already scared the famed Aussie batting line-up. Hence, Australia have called up the 26-year-old spinner who has scalped 32 wickets in just 7 Ranji matches.

Abid Mushtaq came to the limelight after scalping 8 wickets for just 18 runs against Vidarbha in the Ranji Trophy match.

“It is an opportunity for Abid to learn from the best. He will get the exposure of bowling to world-class batters like Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne, etc. It is a great news for J&K cricket. Abid is a great talent and has the potential to make it big,” KSportsWatch quoted a source as saying.

Pat Cummins-led Australia Test Team has arrived in Bangalore on Wednesday. They will have a 5-day camp in Alur, in the outskirts of Bangalore before travelling to Nagpur for the 1st Test. However, Australia’s Test player of the year, Usman Khawaja has been left stranded back home. He is yet to get his Indian visa. The Test series will begin on February 9 at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Jamtha, Nagpur.

Aussie spinner Ashton Agar took to Instagram to post an update regarding the team’s journey plan to India. In the story, Ashton Agar could be seen with Marnus Labuschagne, Travis Head,  and Mitchell Swepson. The trio is holding glasses of orange juice as they pose for the photo.
