What happened? – During the 77th over of the game, Rohit was caught making the comment on the stump microphone to Ravindra Jadeja. The all-rounder (Jadeja) took a single off Marnus Labuschagne’s second ball of the 77th over and was looking for a second run, Rohit, refused after watching the ball in Steve Smith’s hand.The video of the same has gone viral on social media.

Rohit Sharma creates unique record

The century on Day 2 for Rohit Sharma was a special one since it helped him achieve a rare feat. The Hitman became the first-ever Indian cricketer to score hundreds in all formats both as a captain and a player. Overall he is the 4th captain to hit a hundred in all 3 formats.

It was also Rohit’s first Test hundred against Australia as he became the 10th captain from the country to hit a Test hundred against the Aussies. The India skipper made batting look easy on a turning pitch and attacked Australia’s bowlers hitting them for boundaries and sixes with ease. He took runs off Nathan Lyon and did not allow the off-spinner to settle.

IND vs AUS 1st Test: India on top despite spinners dominance 

Despite Rohit Sharma’s dismissal, Ravindra Jadeja and Axar Patel have put up a great partnership helping India’s total cross the 200 run mark. Jadeja and Axar have put up an unbeaten stand of 71 runs for the 8th wicket stretching India’s lead to 134 runs. Before this Jadeja had stitched a 61 run tand with skipper Rohit Sharma. The first two days of the IND vs AUS 1st Test have witnessed bat dominating the ball with spinners taking maximum wickets.

The first day of the match saw Ravindra Jadeja picking up a fifer on his comeback from injury. The all-rounder received support from veteran R Ashwin who chipped in with three wickets. 

Speaking of Australian bowlers, Todd Murphy had a debut to remember picking up five wicket haul in the first innings. The off-spinner accounted for the wickets of KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, R Ashwin and debutant KS Bharat. Nathan Lyon could only pick up one wicket in 33 overs by dismissing Suryakumar Yadav.
