Prasidh Krishna replaced Akash Deep even after Harshit Rana, the team went for Krishna in the Test squad. Rana, the 23-year-old pacer from Delhi, played in the initial two matches in Perth and at the day-night Test in Adelaide. Prasidh is returning to the playing XI exactly a year after his last Test match against South Africa in Capetown on January 3, 2024.

Having previously led India to a major win in the Perth Test, Bumrah’s leadership is vital as India looks to balance the series.
