IND vs AUS PM’s XI: Rohit Sharma & Co. opt for rest day, to resume training on Friday

IND vs AUS: Rohit Sharma joined Team India during the Perth Test, and will play his first practice match on Friday.

As the Indian team met Australian PM Anthony Albanese on Thursday, Rohit Sharma and Co. opted for a rest day, instead of hitting the ground, days prior to the practice match vs Prime Minister’s XI. The team is scheduled to play the encounter at the Manuka Oval from 30th of November. The report also suggested that the players will only begin practice on Friday.

The visiting side is 1-0 up in the IND vs AUS series, after they notched up a 295-run win at Perth. The match was important for India in another context, as Virat Kohli bounced back to form, and smashed his 30th Test ton. As usual, Yashasvi Jaiswal was in the runs, while youngsters Harshit Rana, and Nitish Reddy showed great promise.

Now India, after the match with PM XI, will head to Adelaide for the 2nd Test of the series from December 6, which happens to be a D/N match. Meanwhile. the team will be looking for make some changes — skipper Rohit Sharma has come back from his break, there is no clarity if Shubman Gill is fit, and R Ashwin might get a look in, over Washington Sundar.

As far as the ideal playing XI for the IND vs AUS second Test is concerned, Rohit Sharma goes to the top along with Yashasvi Jasiwal. At no. 3 will be Shubman Gill, followed by Virat Kohli, and Rishabh Pant. Next up will be Dhruv Jurel, with a choice between Ashwin and Washington Sundar. Nitish Reddy would continue as the pace-bowling all-rounder.

For pacers, ideally India should go with the same unit — Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Harshit Rana.
