According to sources who spoke with TOI, curators at the four locations have been ordered to proceed and create pitches that will guarantee “good Test cricket” for the entire five days.

Now one can ponder why would Team India decide against the rank turner of pitches. The answer to this question is rather simple which is that the Indian batters have now themselves become vulnerable against the spin. And this difficulty has gotten rather ingrained in them.
The absence of Rishabh Pant from the series has cost India their counterattacking trump card against spin. Thus, the bigger problem and demand for ‘good Test cricket’ pitches.

The Indian Challenge for Aussies
A trip to the sub-continent presents one with particular challenges. Like no other nation, the culture, the environment, the food, and the noise may be used against a visiting team.
In the northern part of India in February, mornings will be cool. Hence pitches will be slower and the occasional ball will keep low. The cold mornings will allow for early movement, which is fantastic news for pace attacks of both India and Australia.
It goes without saying that India made wise venue selections. Rahul Dravid would be interested in seeing how Australia responds to spin and a lack of bounce.
India will be more comfortable in Delhi and Dharamshala than Australia. Indian batters are better suited for slower pitches because they stay low and provide pace square of the wicket with their wristy strokes.
In these circumstances, trying to hit the line is dangerous. Australians struggle on the slower, lower pitches because they are accustomed to using the extra bounce to produce speed with the bottom hand.

On Nagpur’s red soil pitch, batting is recommended for the first three days unless a ferocious turner appears.
India’s fortress in this series will be Delhi and Dharamshala. There are both red and black dirt pitches in Ahmedabad (4th Test), and India’s order will depend on how the series is going.
Attrition takes a huge toll on visiting teams. And in any circumstances, if the match goes to Day 5, one can expect India to win.
