There has been no respite for the Indian skipper as Rohit Sharma continues his poor and lacklustre form in this mega important WTC Finals. In the recently concluded IPL 2023, the Mumbai Indians skipper was extremely shy of runs with his bat. It was however hoped that Sharma might regain his form back in such a major final.
But piling up to India’s already huge misery, the opener succumbed to a delivery by opponent captain Pat Cummins. While a big start was needed from India’s top order, both Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill departed after a brief good start. Keeping IPL’s poor form behind, Rohit even struggled the last time India reached the finals of WTC.
In that game against New Zealand, Rohit failed to put up a big score and could manage just 34 and 30 in both the innings. But today, the scenario was different. With India trailing by such a huge score, the Indian team banked on their skipper to put up a good score but alas.

The umpire doesn’t hesitate to raise him finger and Rohit came to the middle to discuss with partner Shubman Gill. After a brief discussion, Rohit walks back to the pavillion without wasting his DRS call after scoring just 15 runs.
